The Challenge
Johnson’s Cellars required a large-format retail coolroom capable of handling heavy stock volumes while maintaining stable chilled temperatures across both storage and customer-facing display areas. The project needed to combine high refrigeration capacity, efficient product pull-down performance, retail presentation glazing, and durable construction suited to constant commercial use.
Our Solution
We designed and installed a custom L-shaped cool room incorporating two independent Mint refrigeration systems: a 7.7kW wing system and an 11kW main system, engineered for rapid pull-down and consistent 2°C holding temperatures. The build included roof-mounted condensing units, five Mint evaporators, Carel electronic controls, insulated Permaguard panel construction, Hexa Ply flooring, glazed Gannon display door inserts with LED lighting, entry access doors, integrated shelving, and full refrigeration controls for reliable retail operation.
